Whether you’re looking for support in improving your garden or want a comprehensive design, everything starts with a consultation. A consult can help clarify direction, troubleshoot challenges, and develop a workable plan to bring your vision to life and make your land feel like an expression of who you are. We would love to help make your landscape more cohesive, beautiful, functional, delicious, ecologically aligned, and lower maintenance.
We like to offer more flexibility than traditional firms to meet a variety of needs and budgets. Sometimes one consult is enough to address a client’s needs, sometimes a consult lays the foundation for a site design, and sometimes people want support that falls between those points. Popular topics of consults include: updating a foundation planting, integrating food, planting for birds and butterflies, addressing drainage issues, surveying the site to align it with ecology, incorporating kids’ elements, renovating the whole property’s landscape, the list goes on. Our aim is to listen to clients and empower them to take action that works for them and their land.
During a 1-hour, onsite consultation, we’ll listen to your needs, challenges, and dreams while assessing your site. From there, we’ll collaborate on steps you can take to achieve your goals and discuss any follow up services that would be helpful.
Follow up can include: step-by-step work plan for DIYers, design sketches, site-specific plant lists, plant sourcing, a comprehensive landscape design and installation, ongoing coaching, and more.
HOW IT WORKS
A 1-hour consult is $150. This includes preparatory site research done prior to the consult and visit summary notes sent after to make sure you get the most from this time. We’ll talk about any potentially helpful follow up services and their costs during the consult.
We appreciate our labor’s value but understand that anything can limit a person’s capacity to take on these costs. We can be flexible with pricing in mutual service to making a beautiful, ecological impact on the world. What makes this different from free consults offered by other landscape firms?
When firms offer free consults, their aim is to give prospective clients service estimates. Initial consults are necessary for any site work; some firms charge upfront for this time, some hope to cover it later in future services. We prepare for each consult uniquely to ensure the most valuable experience for our clients — this is not just about what we can sell you, it’s about addressing your needs, answering DIY questions, solving problems, etc. We value this time and labor regardless of sales outcomes. That said, we are happy to take a free 15-minute discovery call answer your initial questions.
